Successful implementation of the LISTERIA CONTROL CONCEPT

Due to the involvement of ISI Food Protection to help a meat processor to overcome an acute crisis caused by listeria contaminations and a subsequent recall and production stop, we have developed a new concept, called “Listeria Control Concept” (LCC).

This comprehensive approach supports food processors actively, to reduce risks caused by listeria in ready to eat food to a minimum.

In the meantime, this new concept is implemented at different production sites within the meat and seafood industries by being accepted by the regional authorities as sufficient.

The LCC is in principle a multi-hurdle approach that is based on the three main pillars “prevention”, “elimination” and “inhibition”. This concept can be applied for all kinds of ready to eat foods and meets the legal requirements of the EU directive No 2073/2005 on microbiological criteria for foodstuff.
